Viv Latifa is a talented singer-songwriter hailing from Togo and Italy, currently based in Edinburgh. Describing her music as a fusion of Afro and Latin R&B, BBC Introducing has referred to Viv’s sound as the “new flavour” of Scotland.
Viv’s music career began when she moved to the UK, and she is now working on an upcoming album set for release in summer 2023. She collaborates with producers, artists, instrumentalists, and sound engineers to create her unique sound and has had her tracks broadcast on BBC.
One of Viv’s biggest musical inspirations is Rihanna, and if she could collaborate with anyone in the music industry, it would be H.E.R due to her soulful and inspiring music. She also has aspirations of collaborating with Tems. Viv’s ultimate goal is to be the next big star and bring a fresh new flavour to the industry.
Overcoming the obstacle of starting from scratch in the UK has been a proud accomplishment for Viv, as well as managing herself as an artist, networking, and building a production team. She is driven to pursue her dreams and inspire others through her music, and credits her family as her biggest supporter.
In addition to her musical talents, Viv is also driven and loves meeting new people, having a good laugh, and dancing. Her first performance took place when she was just 6 or 7 years old, and she later went on to become the main vocalist of the Italian theatre group “Questa é la mia band” at the age of 12.
