Pop Top, also known as PDT or Pop da Top, is a rising artist from Canton, Ohio who currently resides in Columbus. His music career started in Atlanta, Georgia when he was hanging around a group of friends who would go to the studio to rehearse. One of his mother’s good friends encouraged him to try it out and even if he messed up, to keep going. This is when he knew he wanted to pursue a career in music.
Pop Top’s goals within the music industry include being in a conversation with the greats, having a Billboard top 100 song, and being nominated for a Grammy. He also hopes to generate fans across the globe and to be able to feed his family through royalties. One of the accomplishments he is most proud of is learning how to engineer his own music, performing in front of a big crowd, and moving to Atlanta on his own earlier in his career.
Pop Top is currently working on a project called R&B Pop and the expected release date is February 26, 2023. Past projects Pop Top has done are in collaboration with producers such as Ace Banks, Emkay, Relly made, beats by frost, and Lil Siege, and artists such as Trippie Redd, Tee Grizzley, Icewear Vezzo, Shootem Up, and BSQ Wizzle. Pop Top’s aspirations don’t end there as he’d like to collaborate with names like Drake and Chris Brown.
Pop Top’s reason for waking up every day and continuing to pursue his dreams is to retire his mother and be an inspiration to his family to show them that no dream is out of reach. His dedication and hard work has led to many accomplishments, and he continues to strive for success in the industry. Pop Top’s R&B Pop project is his next step towards achieving his goals and becoming a household name. With his own label, Freshpaper Entertainment, and a great team of producers and artist backing him, Pop Top is definitely one to look out for in the future.
